Lonnie Mae O'Bannon
 
FRIDAY, NOV. 22, 1940 FORMER LOCAL WOMAN PASSES Bedford friends have learned of the death on Wednesday evening at 7:55 o'clock of Mrs. Lonnie Mae O'Bannon of Bloomington, wife of Chuck O'Bannon, formerly of this city. She died at the Rockville sanitarium after an illness of four months. Survivors include the husband, five children, Charles G., William D., George L., Virginia A. and Mary K.; the parents and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Robertson. Funeral servies will be held Saturday at 2 o'clock.

Verna (McDowell) Ody
June  24, 1904 - June 04, 1973
 
Mrs. Verna McDowell Ody, 68, a resident of 704 Ohio St., LaPorte, Ind. and former resident of Springville and Indianapolis, died at 1:30 a.m. today at the LaPorte Hospital following a five-year illness. She was born June 24, 1904 in Lawrence County, the daughter of Thomas and Minnie McKee McDowell.  She married Luther D. Ody who preceded her in death. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Mildred Mullis, Bedford, Mrs. Lela Spoonmore, Springville, Mrs. Phyllis Eichiome, Chula Vista, Calif., and Mrs. Alice Kirkman, LaPorte;  three brothers, Ray McDowell, Bloomington and Claude and Opal McDowell, both of Springville;  an aunt, Mrs. Charles McKee of Bedford. She was a member of the Springville Christian Church. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary.  Burial will be in Springville Christian Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after noon Tuesday.

Charles F. Owens
 
TUESDAY, MARCH 21, 1905 DEATHS OWENS Charles F. Owens died last night in the hospital at Evansville, where he was taken for treatment after his injury last Wednesday. He was standing on top of a furniture car reading his switch sheet when the car passed under the nozzle of an old-fashioned lift up water crane. Charlie was struck on the head by the nozzle and knocked off the car, and was unconscious till his death. Mr. Owens was born in Bedford 38 years ago, and had been railroading nearly 26 years, being a Conductor on the Monon for three years. He was in the yards at Chicago for two years, and recently had been running on the Airline between Evansville and Huntingburg. His wife (Katherine M. Hodges) died last January. Four children survive. The body will arrive in this city this evening, over the S. I., accompanied by the children and a committee from the B. R. T. of Evansville. The funeral will take place Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, from the residence of S. E. Hodges, 1111 Lincoln Avenue. Services by Rev. Whitney. Burial at Breckinridge cemetery, by Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.

Mrs. Charles Owens
 
Monday, January 2, 1905 DEATHS OWENS. Mrs. Charles Owens died at Lafayette Sunday, of chronic gastritus, aged 39 years. The body was brought here, for burial at the Breckenridge graveyard tomorrow. Services at the residence.
