Earl Elkins
 
OCTOBER 21, 1968 -- Earl Elkins, who died Oct. 17 at the Veterans Hosptial in Indianapolis is the son of Abraham and Ida Mae Baugh Elkins, and he was married to the former Fannie Isis Jones Cooper. In addition to other survivors, Mr Elkins is also survived by five step-sons Sherman and Walter Cooper of Indianapolis; Robert Pitts, Shakamack State School and Arthur Joe and Willard Pitts both of Bedford. The additional information was provided by another relative of the family.

Alexander Evans

SATURDAY, March 16, 1912 VETERAN DEAD Alexander Evans Age 76 Years Died at his home near Springville yesterday afternoon at 5:30 O'Clock FUNERAL IS SUNDAY AFTERNOON Alexander Evans aged 73 years a veteran of the Civil War, died at his home near Springville yesterday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock following an illness of four months of Brights Disease. While he had been in ill health for some time prior to November, he was taken seriously ill the 11th of that month. His condition had become quite serious since that time and for several days past all hope for his recovery was abandoned. He was born on the old George farm west of Oolitic but when four years of age the family moved to Wisconsin. He returned to this vicinity however before he was grown and continued to live in this county until the time of his death. When the Civil War began he was one among the first in this county to enlist, and was one of the best soliders who went to the front from this section. He was a member of Company F 15th Indiana. Five sons and one daughter survive. J. Frank Evans resides in this city and the other four brothers William J., L.A., O.A., and Walter reside near Springville. The daughter Miss Goldie also resides near Springville. His wife died about six years ago. Funeral services will be conducted from the home tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 o'clock by Rev. Sigmon and Rev. Skein. The GAR of which the deceased was a member will have charge of the services at the grave. Burial will be in the Christian Church Cemetery which is on the farm where Mr. Evans spent the greater part of his life.

Angeline Hamer Evans
1838-1916.
 
Dec 8, 1916, Friday. AGED LADY - Mrs Angeline Evans, wife of Elijah Evans died Thursday at Mitchell. funeral there Saturday .. She is survived by her husband, four sons, and one daughter. Funeral services will be conducted at Mitchell Saturday at one o'clock. Burial in Mitchell Cemetery.

James Edward Evans
 
SATURDAY, OCT. 26, 1940 INFANT PASSES AWAY AT HOME James Edward Evans, infant son of Charles D. and Goldie Southerland Evans passed away this morning at 5 o'clock in the family residence, rural route two. The child had been ill since birth on Sept. 8. Besides the parents, one brother, Harold; two sisters, Pauline and Ola Mary, at home, and the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Southerland, Oolitic, survive. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock by the Rev. Ora Cox, with burial in New Union cemetery. The remains will be returned to the residence this afternoon from Sherwood and Ferguson mortuary.
