The following from the Bedford Mail is concerning Mrs. Fish who has frequently visited the family of Capt. Alexander: "Mrs. Nancy (Nugent) Fish is quite ill at her home on South 'N' Street, suffering from heart trouble, the direct cause of which is the extreme hot weather. Her son, John R. Nugent of Indianapolis, arrived here yesterday to be with her and will be followed by his wife and son who will arrive tomorrow."

Mrs. Nancy (Nugent) Fish is Nancy Jane Houston (19 Feb 1822-13 Mar 1904), daughter of Levi and Rachel Alexander Houston. Rachel Alexander Houston is the daughter of William and Agnes Brewster Alexander, who are the grandparents of both Nancy Jane and Capt. Williamson Alexander, son of John Alexander and Margaret Clarke.

Nancy Jane Houston was first married to Jesse Wood on 31 Jan 1839 in Lawrence County, Indiana, and had one son William L. Wood born about 1841.

She married John R. Nugent (05 Oct 1811-22 Feb 1880) on 16 Oct 1851 in Lawrence County, Indiana. They had three children: Benedict Franklin Nugent, born about 1852; George R. Nugent, born about 1855; and John R. Nugent, born Sep 1857.

Her third husband was Anderson Fish (17 Jan 1815-05 Sep 1891). Nancy Jane Houston Wood Nugent Fish died on 13 Mar 1904 in Lawrence County, Indiana.
