SHERIFF THRASHER
Captured a Fellow Who Had Taken Horse and Buggy
Marshal Frank M. Russell of Bedford arrived in the city at noon and returned this afternoon with Paul Hite of Lawrence County who was captured by Sheriff Thrasher near Chapel Hill yesterday afternoon and who was placed under arrest for stealing a horse and buggy. The outfit belonged to L. M. Cross of Jackson County. Mr. Cross was in Lawrence County on business, and it is said that Hite got into the buggy and drove away, coming in the direction of Bloomington. Sheriff Thrasher was notified by telephone yesterday afternoon to be on the lookout for the fellow. Mr. Thrasher at once drove towards Chapel Hill and recognized the man from a description that had been given. The prisoner was brought to the city and placed in jail.
He confessed this afternoon to taking the rig and will be tried at the next term of court in Bedford.
