Here are some happenings of interest to Lawrence county researchers which are coming up soon:

• Thursday, February 5, 2015 — "Speed Dating for Genealogists" is the theme for the program of the Southern Indiana Genealogical Society. Three SIGS members will present genealogy "quick classes":
  • Allison Fredrickson will discuss "Hidden Hoosier Treasures Online" about underused state genealogical internet sources.
  • Donna Foster will speak about "Family Heirlooms" and unique uses of ancestral keepsakes.
  • Susan Covey will give a first-person reading from the Civil War diary of Caroline Richards.
  Program time is 7 PM in the Strassweg Auditorium of the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library, 180 W. Spring St., New Albany, Indiana. Please contact the Southern Indiana Genealogical Society for more information.
