Edward Cates of this city, now clerk at the New Deckard Hotel in Bedford, surprised his many friends on Nov. 9th by his marriage to Miss Viola Brandon. The bride has been connected with the New Deckard since last January as head waitress. The wedding occurred at the Dennis Hotel where Miss Brandon has been stopping for a few days. Only a few friends were present.

The young couple will make their home at the New Deckard for the present after Mrs. Cates return from Clay City where she has been called by the illness of her grandmother.
