Benjamin Blackwell died on December 29, 1853, in Orleans, age 81 years. He was born in Virginia, emigrated from Kentucky 70 years ago, came to Indiana in 1815 and settled in Orleans, Orange County, where he remained except for two years when he lived in Lawrence Co.
