Sam D. Symmes and family returned from Mitchell on Tuesday night where they had been to attend the funeral of Mrs. A.D. Pless, a relative of Mrs. Symmes. Mrs. Pless was born Aug 15, 1848 and was the daughter of David E. Burton, an older settler of Lawrence Co. The deceased was married Aug 30, 1866 and joined the Methodist Church in 1868. She leaves a husband and two daughters, Mrs. R.D. Blackwell of Mitchell and Mrs. Will Lindley of Orleans. The funeral services were conducted by Dr. Rariden of Bedford.
