Bedford's Sensation

A 250-pound hotel waitress in bloomers, attempting to ride a bicycle on "I" Street, held up, advised and encouraged by two well-known Democratic sporting men of this city, attracted crowds of the male sex to that block and drove all the respectable ladies indoors for a short time on Monday.–Mail
