William A. Waggoner of Bedford was drowned Sunday while taking a bath in Salt Creek. He was taken with the cramps, and when he went down the third time a skiff was within two feet of him, but the occupants were unable to reach him in time to save him. The deceased was 24 years old and had a wife and two children and was a member of the I. O. R. M.

Cards have been received in this city announcing the marriage of Edward K. Dye to Miss Carrie Owens at the M. E. Church, Bedford, next Thursday evening at nine o'clock. Prof. Dye was formerly a well-known student of the State University and for the past two years has been the successful superintendent of the Bedford schools. The bride is the handsome and accomplished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. K. D. Owen. The WORLD extends congratulations.
