Winchell Cemetery was established in 1835 and was moved to Kingsbury Cemetery to allow building acreage for the Kingsbury Ordnance Plant (in 1941) at the beginning of World War II. Many of the graves moved were unmarked but in accordance with the map of Winchell many of the graves and their headstones were moved behind the church where Kingsbury Cemetery is located at. Also there were several headstones that were unmarked or weathered past the point of recognition.

Waxham, Walter A. - La Porte Herald, April 4, 1863 - The friends of Walter A. Waxham of Co. B, 73d Reg. Ind. Vol. who died in Nashville, Tenn, Dec 6th 1862 are requested to attend the funeral service to be delivered at Kingsbury, Sunday April 12th, 1863 at 11 o'clock AM by Rev. Abram Smith.
Regarding the earlier memo about Walter Waxham -- I found him listed in Packard's History under "Waxwin", Walter A., Died at Nashville, Tenn., Dec 7, '62. Another Civil War Death follows.
Calvin Zener was aged 26 and living with his parents & siblings in Clinton Twp in 1860. Packard's History lists him in the Fifteenth Regiment, Company "G". as a Corporal. However, Packard does not show that he died. He's listed as Discharged, 1864. Old Judge Packard needed a facts checker and also a name spell-check!!! LaPorte Herald, Saturday, April 25, 1863 - Letter from Murfreesboro, Tenn., Jan 19, 1863: Mr. Zener: Dear Sir: As commander of the company of which your son Calvin R. Zener was a member at the time of his death, it becomes my painful duty to inform you of the manner of his death and to give you the last words of your gallant son. Calvin passed unharmed through the more than ordinarily bloody battle of Wednesday, December 31, 1862, with the coolness of a veteran and the true courage of a Patriot and a Christian, and during the terrible engagement of Friday, Jan 2d, he was struck by a 6 pound cannon ball in the abdomen which caused his death in a short time. As soon as duty would admit of my leaving my command for a moment I hastened to his side to receive any message he might wish to send you or any of his many friends. He conversed rationally with me for the time. He wished me to tell you that he died at his post as a true soldier loves to die. Said he, "tell my parents that I died loving them; tell my brothers and sisters that in my prayers I have not forgotten them; tell them all that I have hopes of meeting them beyond the grave; tell them that I am happy, so happy;" and as he spoke the words "happy," he began singing one of those old hymns he had so often sung with his young friends when assembled around the alter to worship the Supreme Being. At this moment duty called me to my command. I shook hands with him and left him singing praises to the Most High. I sympathize deeply with you in your great loss. I know your son's great worth as a soldier, respectful to his superiors, generous and kind to his equals in battle, courageous and cool as though (--?--) amid the roar of cannon and din of battle. We all sympathize with you in your bereavement, but the loss is not all yours. You have lost a dutiful son, the church a devout member, our country a patriot and a soldier, and we have lost a comrade in arms whom all loved and respected. A case containing three ambrotypes was handed to me by Calvin which he wished sent home. I send by the same mail. I am sir, very respectfully yours, Lieut. Wm. L. Cole
Burial location at this time to be determined.
