William Bidwell has not been located in any census records or obituaries. No additional family information known. Birth and death dates unknown.

Elliott, Cyrus – MISSING STONE – Old list, “Elliott, Cyrus, son of E. & H., died 1840, age 6 mo. 27 days”. Cyrus’ parents were Elfonzo and Hannah (Tabor) Elliott. Elfonzo & Hannah are buried in graves 3-20-8 and 3-20-9. However, these lots in block 3 were not purchased until 1876. Elfonzo died in October 1875 and Hannah is shown as the owner, so it is likely she bought the lot when Elfonzo died, paying for it a few months later. The old readings show a number of illegible stones in block 1. Those markers are no longer present in 2002. Perhaps the children who died in the 1830’s and 1840’s were buried in a “Baby Land” area in this cemetery. This is only speculation, as there are no cemetery association records until the 1870’s.
Finley, Aloent – MISSING STONE – Old list shows two children, “Finley, Aloent, age 1 yr. 23 dys, died 17 September 1872” and “Finley, Errett J., son of J.J. & E.L. Foster, Francis Grove – MISSING STONE – Old list: “Grove, son of Aaron & Abigail; d. Feb 17, 1839, age illegible” Abigail died Jan 10, 1839 and this child died a little over 1 month later – perhaps Abigail’s death (at age 23) was a result of complications after childbirth? At the time of his death, he lived with sister, Eva Wiltfong. Harry’s father was Joel C. Foster. He died July 19 1928. Joel owns Lot 14 in Section 1. There is a mid-size bronze marker on the lot, placed there in 1887. Documented burials are: Joel C. Foster - who died July 19, 1928. The names of Ellen & Joel are the only ones on the marker. On Joel’s lot but with her own small granite marker is Joel’s second wife, Ella E. (Waldo) Foster. They were married in 1890. Ella died June 1, 1931. Harry’s obituary does not mention a marriage or spouse, but lists a surviving daughter, Mrs. John Peters of Kenosha, Wis. Based on the fact that the lot was planned for 4 burials and only 3 are accounted for, the timeline of the deaths of Joel, Harry & Ella and Harry’s not being married at the time of death; it is possible that the 4th burial spot was used for Harry. Some of Harry’s siblings are buried together in the lot owned by Fred Smith (Block 5) and the adjoining John Strode lot. Unknown why all of the siblings have markers but apparently one was not obtained for Harry.
Francis, Catherine Alice Martin - Foster Cemetery Association files – “Catherine Alice Francis died Nov. 13, 1892. Born Jun 13, 1831”. No stone found. Not listed on earlier readings. Other information: Wife of Joseph H. Francis; daughter of Rev. William A. and Mary (Apgar) Martin.

She died Apr. 18, 1870 and is buried in Foster Cemetery. Jabez married Mary D. Griffin April 23, 1872 in Berrien Co., MI.

Parents are buried in Block 3, Lot 12. Parent markers are at 3-12-6, 3-12-7 and 3-12-8. Adult sisters of Charlotte and Clara are located on either side of parent markers. Heckman, Harlow H. – MISSING STONE – Old list – “Heckman, Harlow H., son of J.S. & L.H., d. Sept. 13, 1852, age 1 yr. 7 mo, 28 da.”. Compiler’s Note: Parents would be Jacob S. and Laura (Marshall) Heckman. Graves for this family are located in block 4, row 22. It’s unknown whether a child born as early as 1852 would be with these family members.
Heckman, Harry – Stone Not Found - Old cemetery readings include a list of burials found which were not on the earliest transcription. Included in the “not on original list” is: “Heckman, Harry (son of J.S. & D. Heckman)” No dates are recorded. Compiler’s Note: J.S. would appear to be Jacob S. Heckman, but compiler has no record of a second wife with the initial “D”. Could this be a transcription error? Could this be a duplication of information for Harlow H.? Compiler believes Jacob and Laura’s children were: Harlow (1851-1852), Albert D. (1853-1897), Frances (1857-1898) and a fourth child who died in infancy, no gender or date of birth. Might this be Harry?

Teeter, Theodow J. – Foster Cemetery Association files: “Theodow J. Teeter died Aug. 20th, 1902; Cholera Infantum, Age 4 Months.” Not in earlier lists.
Warner, Aaron – Aaron Warner is the owner of Block 1, Lot 3. His son, Corodon Warner owns Block 1, Lot 4. Corodon also owns a lot in Block 3, where he is buried. Possibly Corodon purchased the lot in block 1 for additional sibling burials?? Although there are no markers on either of these lots, it is believed several members of the family are interred there. Based on census records, Aaron is believed to have died between 1860 and 1870. It is extremely unlikely he is buried anywhere other than in this location. He was born about 1791 in Massachusetts. Burial locator would be block 1, row 1, between marker 5 (G.W. Tappan) and marker 6 (Melissa Ballou).
Warner, Hannah – MISSING STONE – From old cemetery listing: “Hannah Warner, died Apr. 5, 1856, age 23 yrs, 10 mo, 23 da.” This stone was not found in October, 2001. Corodon also owns a lot in Block 3, where he is buried. Possibly Corodon purchased the lot in block 1 for additional sibling burials?? Although there are no markers on either of these lots, it is believed several members of the family are interred there. Based on census records, Harriett is believed to have died between 1850 and 1860. It is extremely unlikely she is buried anywhere other than in this location. Harriett was born about 1792 in Connecticut. Burial locator would be block 1, row 1, between marker 5 (G.W. Tappan) and marker 6 (Melissa Ballou).
Warner, Harriet J. – MISSING STONE - From old cemetery listing: “Harriet J. Warner, dau. of A.B. & R., died Aug. 1, 1845, age 17 yrs, 11 mo., 15 da” . This is possibly the daughter of Anson B. & Ruth (Webster) Warner. Some confusion with this listing. Other family researchers show that Anson & Ruth had a daughter named Harriet Lucenia who was born August 15, 1843 and died August 1, 1845. Dates of death match but middle initial and age at time of death do not. There are members of a Webster family buried in this cemetery, in addition to the Warner family. Not known which family this stone may have been grouped with, as the old listings provide only an alphabetical list of burials and do not indicate locations. Weed, Esther (Stebbins) – MISSING STONE - Born January 6, 1793 and died April 11, 1874. According to a letter from Helen Caler, a gravestone for Esther was located in Foster Cemetery, next to her husband Lewis but, at some point, it “disappeared”. This marker does not appear on the old cemetery lists but was apparently there some time during the lifetime of Mrs. Caler, who was born in 1901 and died in 2002, a few months after her 100th birthday. Esther should be buried next to Lewis who is in Block 1, Row 3, Grave 4.

Obituary: Funeral of Oliver Wilcox Held in Three Oaks: Former Resident of the Village Dies in Chicago , Where He Had Lived for Several Years - Interment at Foster's Cemetery. The funeral of Oliver Wilcox, son of the late Dr. H.B. Wilcox and of Mrs. N.F. Wilcox of this village, took place Sunday morning. After a brief service at the house, the remains were borne to the Congregational church. Rev. E.B. Cross, now pastor of the Christian church at Paw Paw, conducted the services, preaching an appropriate sermon based upon the story of the raising of the only son of the widow of Nain. A quartet made up of Mesdames Hovey and Bommerscheim and Messrs. Carrier and Chamberlain sang several selections. The church was filled with friends who had gathered to show their respect for the dead, and sympathy for the bereaved mother and sisters. Interment was made at Foster's cemetery beside the young man's father, who passed away in February of 1899. The deceased died last week Thursday morning in a Chicago hospital, where he had undergone, an operation for appendicitis. Wednesday, the day previous, Mrs. Wilcox received word that he was about to submit to an operation, and the mother and sister Joy hastened to his bedside, arriving after the operation but not too late to speak with the patient as he remained conscious almost to the last. The disease was found to have reached a most advanced stage before the knife was resorted to. Oliver Wilcox was twenty-nine years of age at the time of his death. He came to Three Oaks with his parents when about two years of age. He left here when still in his teens, going first to Benton Harbor and later to Chicago . He was an employee in the office of Swift & Co., of that city. He was well liked by his fellow employees, who contributed a beautiful floral offering as an expression of their regard - a pillow of roses with the inscription "Our Friend." He was a deacon in the church of which he was a member, and those with whom he was most closely associated in his daily life testify to the sincerity of his life and the worth of his character. At the last he expressed his readiness for the change that was soon to take place. Source: The Oaks February 1, 1902, p. 20
