County Births

Commencing in 1882 County Clerks in Indiana were required to record births and deaths reported to the Clerks Office. Births
that took place prior to October 1, 1907 will only be recorded in the office of the local health department. Birth records after
that date should also be recorded in the office of the Indiana State Department of Health Vital Records Department and the    
Local County where birth occurred. Please remember, even in 1882, not all births were being reported to the Clerk's office.
