I am searching for ancestors of my GG Grandfather- William H. (Billy) ROBINSON (or Robison). His parents were Jonathan ROBINSON (or Robison) b 1793/1803 PA & Mary Hatfield b 1809/1812 Md William H. was born 7/4/1828 in Millersburg, Ohio and died 4/29/1912 in Locke, IN. About 1850 he married Mary Ann Wortinger (b 6/13/1834) they lived in Legrange County, Indiana and moved to Locke, IN (Elkhart Cnty) about 1862 from Lagrange County. William’s brothers were: Hezekiah married Rosetta LEAPPER Martin d 1913 Married Mary MITCHELL George W. b 9/8/1846 Enlisted 9/13/1863 age 17 in Union Army at Nappanee, IN in 129th Indiana Volunteers. Discharged at Indianopolis 7/29/1865. Married Sarah Miller Res 4 mi E of Goshen, IN Alec Alexander William’s sisters were: Lydia b 2/21/1852 d 1944. Married John COPENHAVEN 1/21/1871. I have a Talcott READ/REED that died in 1858 at age 94. Revolutionary Vet. I believe he was living with his grandson, David DODGE in Lima Twp, LaGrange Co., IN at the time of his death. Might anyone have any access to any records at all to check this out please? I am hoping to find Talcott's definate death location, hopefully burial.

I am searching the parents of JACOB HELTZEL born 1815 VA. He marr Rebecca C. Vance, dau of Martin & Barbara (Stoever) Vance of Elkhart Co, IN in 1841. They lived in the Elkhart/LaGrange county area until 1859 when they moved to Jackson Co.,MO. While in Indiana they had 7 children: John Absolom, Mary E., Martin Luther, Catharine Amanda, Susanna, Barbara & Philip W. Did Jacob have ties with the Henry Heltzel family that lived in Noble Co., IN? Would like to hear from any one researching this line.

Looking for any information on SHAW family. Nahum and Marilla (surname unknown)SHAW lived in Elkhart Co. from the early 1850s until the 1870s. In the late 1860s, Nahum bought his son Charles a farm in LaGrange. Charles and his wife Ellen (THORP)lived there "3 or 4" years, then moved to Sparta, MI. While in IN, Charles and Ellen had 4 children; Willis N., b 1861; Nellie M., b 1863; Charles J., b 1865; George E., b 1868. After moving to Sparta, they had another child, Melvin, b 1873. Ellen died in Sparta in 1874. 3 of the children returned to Elkhart to live with their maternal grandparents (THORP).

William F. Spreuer married Ella Mendenhall and had a son Claud B. Spreuer b:Oct. 4, 1886. Claud married Rachel Miller. They had a son Mortimer Miller Spreuer b: Nov. 1, 1907. They lived in LaGrange I believe the city. Rachel's parents were Levi Horning Miller and Margaret Finnel. Any information would be helpful.

SHEPARD, Nancy (nee PHELPS) is living with her daughter Mercy M DICKINSON and son-in-law Levant B DICKINSON in Wolcottville, IN in the 1860 US Census. Nancy died Oct 1870 and is reportedly buried in either LaGrange or Noble County, but we were unable to locate her grave when there several years ago. She was originally from VT and lived for a time in Genessee Co, NY. She may have been divoraced as her husband Dr. Guy Benjamin SHEPARD had moved to WI by 1850 while Nancy was still living with their three children in NY. Any help will be happily received.

Searching for descendants of Herman BOLEN/BOLAND and Bertress "Bird" Klingler (Born 1892 in Indiana or Ohio). Bertress Klingler was the daughter of David Klingler and Linnea Gindlesperger. The Klingler family lived in Blakeslee, OH at the turn of the century. Bertress and Herman Bolen moved to Granger, IN where Bertress later died and is now buried. Levi first married MARY BROWN (m. 13 Aug. 1863 Goshen, d. 8 Apr. 1872 Macoupin Co, IL) They, with their son ALBERT, came to Macoupin Co., IL in 1866. Later, their daughter, EMMA, married SAM L. LEATHERMAN and lived in Goshen. After Mary's death, Levi married FRANCIS HARSHBARGER (24 July 1873, d. 1 Mar 1876 (?)). Isabella & Levi married 8 Jun 1877.

Cowley, his son Augustus, both born in New York, and Augustus' son X Cowley, my grandfather, born in LaGrange Cnty. Stephen, Augustus and others came to LaGrange Cnty in about 1840. Augustus, X and others left for Wyoming in about 1885. Frank Cowley was X's half brother. There were also several sisters (Edith, Laura and others), Stephen's first and second wives, and Augustus' wife Ellen Wheeler. I have much info about all of these people.

Philip Spreuer arrived in NY in 1852 from Germany. He married Barbara ? (sho arrived in this country in 1854). Their first child William Spreuer was born in Pa. and Catherine and Anna were born in LaGrange Co., IN. Two others died. William SPREUER married Ella MENENHAL in LaGrange Co. and had seven children, Sadie, Claud, Herbert, Virnia, Marjory and two others that died. Claud married Rachel MILLER.
