Indiana Genealogical Resources
About The USGenWeb Project
The goal of the USGenWeb project is to create a global library for genealogy
research. This library provides electronic versions of genealogical resources and
volunteers to answer research questions via the Internet. Through Query and Surname pages,
researchers are made aware of those who might have ties to the family being researched,
thus the USGenWeb project helps facilitate your research. The USGenWeb project seeks to
leverage at the County level a variety of research tools, including Lookups, Queries and
Surname lists, and transcriptions of public records, using the wide accessibility of the
Internet.
The USGenWeb Project is an outgrowth of the original Ky Gen Web Project. In
June, 1996 volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of
databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page of the state of Indiana. If
you would like to get involved with Indiana USGenWeb, please contact Lena Harper, the Indiana USGenWeb
coordinator. The Assistant State Coordinators are Jim Cox and Karen Zach. Volunteers are needed and cheerfully accepted.
