St
Francisville bridge, was once the Train bridge for the New York Central,
was bought by the Stangle family for a shorter route to hall the produce. To
help pay for the bridge it was a toll bridge costing as much as 50 cent to
cross, it got a strange tell to it and was called the purple head bridge.
People claimed if you stopped on the bridge and turn off your lights and
motor a evil purple head would appear. It was talked about on many programs
about the most haunted place in Indiana. The town of St Francisville Il
bought the bridge and named it the Cannon ball bridge |

dinner written on the back of the picture was "Marshall, Ill. taken at Aunt Emma
Powell's dinner." My father Jack Edmond Smith is
standing next to his father Floyd Smith on far right. My Aunt June
(sister to my father is standing next to her mother, Janie .. second woman
on the left. The guy in the hat on the right (I believe
is Elijah Fisher... can't prove it though) I believe the woman
holding on to his arm is Janie's mother. Submitted by Richard Smith brick1@ptd.net

my name. The names may be misspelled since the writing is not real
clear. I also have the class photo from their 1937-38 year, and a grade school

Vincennes In 1926 Viola's yard
In 1996, I posted the following message at the
Knox
County
site. Tonight when I visited the site I noticed that you had added a
"pictures" link. I
have a picture taken in 1926 in Vincennes.
On the back it says, "Taken in
1926 in Viola's yard in Vincennes,
(sp) Indiana."
I would appreciate your
posting it and will hope that someone will recognize the people in the
picture. I would assume they are related to my Taylor, Davidson,
Robinson,
Charlton or Rooksberry lines in the area. Thanks in advance.

BRUCEVILLE AVE GROCERY Max
Spear, in front of the store. The submitter of this picture
has different notes saying that he moved to Bicknell in the early
1920's to manage a store and also
another note with the picture saying "First job--Bruceville,
Indiana 1922-23".
So she is not sure if the store is actually in Bruceville or was on
Bruceville
Ave. Store in Bicknell? if you
have the answer she may appreciate hearing from you. Submitter Susie Bacon
