Mr. Henry C. King, Saluda, Jefferson County, Indiana:
DEAR SIR: Yours of the 28th ult., forwarded by the quartermaster, U.S.A., at Alanta, Ga., is just received, and as requested, I send to you a list of the dead of the 82d Regiment, Indiana Volunteer Infantry interred in this cemetery, with the section and number of their graves. You will percieve that the two graves you mention, (Miles and King) appear upon this list as follows, viz:

The above comprises the interments of the 82d Regiment Volunteer Infantry in this National Cemetery, so far as known. Each grave is marked with a substantial headstone of white marble, with the number of the grave, name of deceased and State, cut in raised letters on each headstone. The total number of interments in this cemetery is 10,154.
