This picture was taken about 1866-67 when her husband Ellis Walton (son of Abraham Walton and Mary Ann Allison/Walton) died in the Battle of Chickasaw Bayou, LA.
The young girl next to her was her only issue, Ida
Walton. When Ellis died, Ida was 1 year old.
After Ellis past, Elvira married again to
John Milton Votaw, March 10,1866. They had two children.
Ellis Ervin Votaw (March 10,
1867) and
Emma Francis Votaw (Sept 16, 1868).
John Milton Votaw left Elvira for unknown
reasons and relocated in Missouri.
Elvira then married Francis Swain Bunker (May 27,
1882). They had no children. All of this occurred in jay County. Francis died May 13, 1887
in Jay County.
