FORMER BERNE WOMAN IS DEAD

Formerly Mrs. Dale Eley, Buried at Portland
Portland, Aug. 6 -
Mildred Alfretta Grimm, formerly Mrs. Dale Eley of Berne, died at the home
of her mother, Mrs. Emily Grimm, of 825 West Walnut Street, Thursday evening
at 6 o'clock from a five months' illness of the after effects of influenza
and complications.
The deceased was born in Portland March 13, 1907, the daughter of John F. and Emily Jane Holloway Grimm, being at the time her death 27 years, 4 months and 15 days of age.
She was a seamstress at the Jay Garment factory until her illness.
Surviving besides the mother are the following brothers and sisters: Ida, wife of Charles Adney of near Montpelier, Elza and Lewis Grimm, and Mary, wife of Lewis Beard, all of South Portland. The father, one sister and one daughter, Wanda M., are deceased.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the
local United Brethren church in charge of Rev. J. H. Nall, pastor. Interment
in the West Grove cemetery, northeast of Pennville.
