Joan Franks, age 81, a former resident Portland, passed away on Friday,
January 7, 2022 at Parker Health and Rehab in Parker City.
Joan was
born on October 14, 1940, in Fort Recovery, Ohio, the daughter of Leo and
Mary (Beyke) Goubeaux. She was a wonderful mother to her children and all of
her adopted children that she helped raise. Joan was a member of the
American Legion Post #211 Auxiliary. She married Clifford Franks, Sr. on
February 23, 1962 and he passed away on June 20, 2006.

Barbara Reese (husband Fred) – Decatur, Indiana
2 brothers: Larry Goubeaux (wife Jeanettia) – Witts Springs, Arkansas
Cecil Goubeaux (wife Diane) – Chicago, Illinois
2 sisters:
Theresia Grogg – Crossville, Tennessee
Doris Brown (husband Denney) –
Montpelier, Indiana
33 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren and 22
great-great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a son; Joseph
Franks.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 4-7
p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Services to
celebrate Joan’s life will follow at 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Pastor Phil Jellison will officiate and burial will follow at a later date
in Wells Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed towards American Legion
Post #211 of Portland.
