Mrs. Edith E. Neil dies at Fort Wayne

Mrs. Edith E. Neil, who resided with a daughter, Mrs. Charles Whitwright, 261 North Seventh Street, died at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Turtle Creek Convalescent Center in Fort Wayne following an extended illness.

A native of Pennville and resident of the Portland area most of her life, she was a daughter of John M. and Frances P. Wight-Moore, and was married to Forrest W. Neil Sept.10, 1904. Her husband died in 1952.   Mrs. Neil was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Charles (Frances) Whitright of Decatur, Mrs. Frank (Helen) Clarke of Pompano Beach, Fla., Mrs. Ernest (Wilma) Whitenack of Indianapolis, Mrs. Virginia Bixler of Portland, and Mrs. Donald (Betty) Frank of Indianapolis; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. One son, Lloyd, three sisters and five brothers are deceased.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Winteregg-Linn Funeral Home, with Rev. William C. Feller officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery at Pennville. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday until time of the services.
