GRETCHEN HEDGES, 92, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at Provena Sacred
Heart Home in Avilla. She was born in Pennville,Ind., and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the 1st Methodist Church of Goshen. She lived in
Kendallville for 15 years, spent most of her life, 35 years, in Goshen, and
the past 10 years in Avilla. Survivors include sons, David (Ginger) Hedges
of Monroeville, Robert (Barbara) Hedges of Wall Lake, Orland, John (Jane)
Hedges of Oak Park, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren;
She was preceded in death by her husband, Murray Hedges, in 1996; parents,
Dr. Russell & Bessie Grisell; and brother, Joseph Grisell. Service is 1:30
p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E.
Dupont Road, with calling two hours prior. Graveside service is 4 p.m.
Sunday in Pennville, Ind. Mr. Tom Novy officiating. Rev. Chris Tiedeman of
Pennville United Methodist Church is conducting Graveside service at the
I.O.O.F. Twin Hills Cemetery, Pennville, Ind. Memorials to "Sacred Heart
Alzheimer's Unit".
