Patricia Lou (Clevenger) Haffner, 75, of Jay County, and a former
Bluffton resident, died on Sunday morning, Aug. 12, 2007, at her residence.
She was retired from Caylor-Nickel Hospital and was a member of the Pleasant
Dale Church of the Brethren and the Poplar Grove Home Economics Club. She
was born on June 20, 1932 in Delaware County, a daughter of Max Buford and
Evelyn Oletha (Baker) Clevenger.
She was married in Delaware County
on June 21, 1952 to Paul N. Haffner, who survives. Also surviving are four
daughters, Deborah I. (Blair) Brown of Decatur, Norma J. Sweeten of Wabash,
Vickie S. (Jack) Edington of Mt.Vernon, Iowa, and Denise K. (Dwight) Ginn of
Bourbonnais, Ill., along with seven grandchildren, and one great grandson.
She is also survived by five sisters, Phyllis (Shannon) Johnson of Muncie,
Ann (Carol) Meyer of Fairfield, Ohio, Suzanne Norris of Fort Wayne, Janis
(Joe) Scott of Muncie, and Cindy Holaday of Farmland, and three brothers,
Max Eugene Clevenger of Muncie, Darwin Clevenger of Dekalb, Tx., and Michael
Clevenger. She was preceded in death by her brother Buford Dee Clevenger.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Thoma/Rich, Hewitt
and Cheney Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on
Wednesday at the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren in rural Adams County,
with the Rev. Jay Carter officiating. A committal service will be held at
Twin Hills I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Pennville at 3:30 on Wednesday. Memorials
may be made to Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren.
