Nila Rudrow passed away on January 16, 2019 in Ball Memorial Hospital
after a brief illness. She was born Nila Marceil Kile on July 28, 1940 to
Gerald Henry Kile and Mildred Irene Hinshaw. She was married on May 29, 1958
to Ronald Max Rudrow. They celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Family
was important to Nila, over the years many relatives of all ages found their
way into the Rudrow home for a brief stay while things were tough. Nila was
a homemaker who supported her children's many 4-H and FFA activities as well
as assisting her husband to run their tractor/farm equipment repair shop.
She and her husband also sold Ertle Farm Toys making them very papular at
Christmas time.
Nila's community involvement included a 50 year
membership to Pike Friends and Neighbors, a Jay County chapter of Indiana
Extension Homemakers Association. She was a Notary Public and served a
number of years on the Pike Twp. Election committee. Nila was a lifetime
member of Tri State Gas Engine and Antique Tractor Association where she and
her husband sold their farm toys for many years and later she served several
years as secretary.
Surviving are her husband Ronald Max Rudrow, one
son Ronnie Max Rudrow (wife Cindy) of Portland, Son in law Randy Karl Massie
of Portland, two grandsons Richard Ronald Rudrow and Ryan Karl Massie, one
granddaughter Julie Eileen Massie, two great granddaughters Jenna Eileen
Aker and Eva Kay Massie, two great grandsons Ethan Andrew Aker and Rusty
Karl Massie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter
Judith Eileen Massie.
Nila had a pleasing personality, a great smile
and enjoyed meeting people in her many years at the Portland Tractor show.
Her husband says “She was a lot of fun in the 60 years of marriage.”
Funeral services will be Tuesday January 22, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the
Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Harris presiding. Burial will be
in the IOOF Cemetery in Pennville. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 –
6:00 PM. Memorials can be made to the Tri State Gas Engine and Tractor
Association.
