Private viewing for Thomas B. Berthold, 60, 7280 E. Main St., New
Corydon, will be held at the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer
Funeral Home.
Cremation will follow and interment of the ashes and
graveside services will be held at a later date at the Spring Hill Cemetery
in Fort Recovery.
Berthold died Monday morning at his home.
According to the Jay County Coroner’s office, Berthold died from a
self-inflicted gunshot wound.
He had been employed at All American
Homes in Decatur since 1974.
Born Feb. 28, 1940, in Hammond, he was
the son of Peter and Gertrude (Burke) Berthold. He was a 1954 graduate of
Onarga Military School in Onarga, Ill., and served in the Army.
Surviving are one daughter, Amy Berthold, Geneva; and one granddaughter.
