Bobbie Darrell Waldron, age 96, a resident of Twinsburg, Ohio, passed
away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 in Ohio. He was a former resident of Jay
County.
Bobbie was born on April 10, 1925, in Jay County, Indiana,
the son of Leslie Allow and Agnes Matilda (Bailey) Waldron. He graduated
from Gov. I.P. Gray High School in 1942 and served in the U.S. Navy from
1943-1946 as an aviation radio torpedo bomber of the U.S.S. Bennington. He
married Romanell (nee Cox) in 1944 and she passed away in 2019. After
graduating from Miami University (Ohio) in 1951 with a degree in accounting,
he worked for Goodyear Tire as a controller in the division of combustion
engineering. In 1967 he worked from Republic Steel in Cleveland, Ohio as
Vice-President of finance until his retirement.
Over his lifetime he
was involved with Boy Scouts of America, Masonic Lodge, and Babes of 1916
Men’s Softball League in Solon, Ohio, where he served as President from
1995-1996.
Survivors include his 4 children; Deborah Gammel
(Leonard), Robert Waldron (Linda), Chris Waldron (Kathy) and Bruce Waldron
(Melissa deceased in 2020), 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 from 10 – 11 a.m.
at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Services to
celebrate Bobbie’s life will follow at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021
at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia,
Indiana.
