Jay county lady, 68, is killed on birthday
Mrs. Martha K.
Shaneyfelt, of Portland route 2, mother of Mark Shaneyfelt of Decatur route
2, was killed about 3 o’clock Friday afternoon, on her 68th birthday, in a
two-car collision at a rural intersection about three and one-half miles
southeast of Pennville.
She was riding in a car driven by her husband, Orville, 71, who is reported in good condition at the Jay county hospital at Portland. Mrs. Shaneyfelt was pronounced dead at the scene of a compound skull fracture…….
The accident victim was born in Ohio Jan. 28, 1904, a daughter of Joseph H. and Alice Wehrly-Stump, and was married to Orville Shaneyfelt June 1, 1929.
Mrs. Shaneyfelt was a member of the Walnut Corners Friends church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Donald Wilson of near Greenville, O., and Mrs. Eugene Roberts of Alpena, Mich.; three sons, Dale Shaneyfelt of Portland route 1, Mark Shaneyfelt of Decatur route 2, and Paul E. Shaneyfelt of Portland route 4; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Sheridan Brosher of Union City, O., Mrs. Guy Warnock of Muncie, and Mrs. Arlo Middletown of Cincinnati, O.; and two brothers, Joseph Stump of Parker route 1 and Donald Stump of Fort Recovery, O.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Williamson & Spencer
funeral home at Portland. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m.
Sunday.
