LeRoy Weaver

LeRoy Weaver, 83, Route 1, Bryant and residing in the New Corydon community, died early today in the Portland Community Care Center after an extended illness. He was a retired farmer.

He was born in Adams County May 20, 1893, a son of George and Martha Waits-Weaver. He married Lora E. Stolz March 4, 1920.  She preceded in death February 23, 1954.

Mr. Weaver was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Bryant, and the new Corydon Community Club.

Surviving are a son, James. Portland; three daughters, Mrs. Lewis (Betty) King, Route 1, Bryant and Mrs. Don (Margaret) Reef and Mrs. Marion (Miriam) DeBolt, both of New Corydon, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Three sisters and two brothers preceded in death.

The body is at the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland where friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday and where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Rev. Bassam Abdallah and Rev. William Andrews will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the building fund of the Redeemer Lutheran Church.
