Nine children were born, six of whom survive the father, they being William of Pennsylvania, Isaac of Adams County, Mrs. Lucy Ann Houch of this city, Mrs. Martha Renner of Westchester and John Weaver of South Portland, at whose home he died. The three dead are Edward, George and Martin. His death came after no long illness and was due mainly to old age.
His funeral services were held in the Lutheran Church
of Portland, September 16, 1905, conducted by his pastor, the Rev. Elmer
Kahl of Bryant and Rev. M. L. Smith of Portland; interment in the Mt. Zion
