Thurman A. Hisey, 76, 615 N. Middle St., Portland, a retired
employee of Portland Forge, Inc. died at the Jay County Hospital
after an extended illness.
He had worked at the Portland
factory for 27 years. Born Aug 23, 1903 in Adams County, he was the
son of Frank and Mary Jane (Lowery) Hisey. He was first married
April 16, 1928 to Leona Miller, who died March 14, 1970. He then
married Georgia Rickner, who survives.
Hisey was a member of
the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Portland. Suriving besides
his wife are two sons, Richard Hisey, Lexington, Ohio, and Thurman
G. Hisey, Portland; one step-son, James Rickner, Redkey; three
grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, and one
step-great-grandchild.
Services were at the Zion Lutheran
Church, with burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
