Mrs. Mary V. Hartnagel, 86, of Portland, sister of two
Decatur residents, died Monday morning at the St. Joseph hospital, Fort
Wayne. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church, Portland.
Born in Jay county on Feb. 17, 1889,
she was a daughter of Peter and Sarah Hardin-Minch, and was married to
Nicholas Hartnagel, who preceded her in death on August 24, 1969.
Survivors include one son, Paul of Portland; two daughters, Mrs. Robert
Weller of Portland; Mrs. Florence Haney of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Charles
Minch and Mathias Minch, both of Decatur; four sisters, Mrs. Royce Walters
and Mrs. Walter McLaughlin, both of Fort Wayne; Mrs. LeRoy Ayres of Redkey;
Mrs. Oscar Clouse of Portland; nine grandchildren and 36
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at
10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Rev.
Kenneth Raczek officiating. Burial will be in the Trinity cemetery, Bryant.
Friends may call at the Baird-Freeman funeral home, Portland, after 3 p.m.
Wednesday. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
