Mrs. Irene V. Gabel, 87, route 1, Bryant, widow of Peter S.
Gabel, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday at the Berne Nursing Home.
She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bryant, where she was
active in the Altar & Rosary Sodality.
She was born
April 18, 1888 in Adams County, the daughter of Phil and Elizabeth
Beattle-Schirack.
Surviving are two sons, William R. and
Paul, both of Fort Wayne; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Lengerich of
Bryant, Mrs. Alma Carter and Mrs. Justine Boyd, both of Florida, and Mrs.
Irene Stevens of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Mrs. Idella Winteger of Dayton and
Mrs. Clara Myers of Celina; two brothers, Ed Schirack of Elyria, Oho, and
Fedelas Schirack of Dayton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Holy Trinity Catholic
Church at 10 a.m. Monday, Father Francis J. Rehberger officiating. Burial
will be in the Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
Sunday. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the Downing Funeral Home,
Geneva.
