Mother of city resident dies
Mrs. Pauline C.
Vasquez, 49, of Redkey, mother of Mrs. Raymond O’Campo of Decatur, died at
8:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Jay county hospital at Portland after an extended
illness.
She was born in Carnes City, Tex., July 5, 1922, to Steven
and Syfrina Marillo-Costillo, and was married to Dan Vasquez Sept. 16, 1935.
Surviving are the husband; one son, David Vasquez of Portland; five
daughters, Mrs. Brian Fields of Portland, Mrs. Raymond O’Campo of Decatur,
Mrs. William Bennett, Mrs. Chester Connley and Miss Carmen Vasquez, all of
Redkey; one sister, Mrs. Isaac Martinez of Redkey; one brother, Isobel
Costillo of Portland; a half-brother, Alfredo Moreno of Redkey; a
half-sister, Mrs. Juanita Willis of Redkey; and 18 grandchildren.
Funeral rites will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Jones mortuary in
Redkey, with Rev. Victor Schott officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest
cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
