Funeral services for Lewis G. Stoddard, 59, Kouts, Step-brother of Mrs. John Starks, Berne, were held at 10 a.m. today at Kosanke Brothers Funeral Home in Kouts. Burial followed in Hillcrest Cemetery in Redkey. Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. today.
He died Saturday at his home in Kouts from an apparent heart attack. He was an employee of Indiana General Corp. Of Valparaiso.
Born in Kouts on Aug. 25, 1916, he was the son of Ord and Maude Payne-Stoddard. His parents were former Redkey residents.
A veteran of World War 11, he was a member of Kouts American Legion Post 301.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Maude Denton, Kouts; four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Smith, Tipton; Mrs. Clara Kruger, Rantoul, Ill.; Mrs. Harriet Dull, Ridgeville, and Mrs. June Nethery, Portland one brother, Ord Stoddard, Kouts; two step-sisters, Mrs. John Mroz, LaPorte, and Mrs. John Starks, Berne, and a step-brother, Eugene Denton, Crown Point.
