Robert Raymond Wendel, 72, of New Corydon (Jay County), IN, passed away
on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at his home. He was born on Saturday, April 8,
1944, in Jay County, IN. Robert was a 1962 graduate of Bryant High School
and served in the United States Air Force. He was a retired electrician from
General Soya (Bunge) in Decatur. Robert was a member of the Moose and Eagles
in Decatur, American Legion Post #468 in Berne, and a lifetime member of the
Geneva V.F.W. Post #6751. He enjoyed fishing and playing poker.
Survivors incude: Son - Michael A. Wendel, Garrett, IN, Granddaughter -
Aleasha Wendel, Garrett, IN, Brother - Donald Wendel, Portland, IN, Sisters
- Ruth Wendel, New Corydon, IN and Jane Wendel, New Corydon, IN.
He
was preceded in death by his: Mother - Lorene (Braun) Wendel, Father -
Herbert Wendel and Brother - Michael Wendel and Sister-Mary Lou Rauch.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Baird-Freeman
Funeral Home 221 N. Meridian St. Portland on Monday, March 13, 2017 from
3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
A service to celebrate Robert’s life will be at
Baird-Freeman Funeral Home 221 at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 14, 2017.
Interment will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland, IN.
