Sally A. Schneider
Sally A. Schneider age 82,
former Portland resident passed away Saturday morning May 13th in Swiss
Village in Berne where she was a resident. Born in Richmond on March 29,
1935 she was the daughter of Joseph and Flora (Schroeder) Holthouse. She was
married to Elmer M. Schneider in 1983 and he passed away on November 20,
2011. She was a Registered Nurse having worked in Drs. Fitzpatrick and
Schenck office in Portland for over twenty years. She was owner of Schneider
Antiques in Portland for many years. She was a member of Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church, Alter Rosary Society, 1953 Portland High School
graduate and 1954 Good Samaritan Nursing School graduate in Dayton.
Surviving are two sons Michael J. McIntosh (wife Suzette) of New Castle and
Steve W. McIntosh (wife Lori) of Portland, three daughters Marcia McIntosh
of Richmond, Cynthia Cook of Richmond and Mary Beery (husband Bruce) of
Decatur, one sister Marcia Edwards of Centerville, step-son Philip Schneider
(wife Loretta) of Portland, Step-daughter Mary Jo Pearson of Celina, Eight
grandchildren, three great grandchildren, eight step grandchildren and nine
step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00
AM in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portland with Fr. Robert
Moran presiding. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery. Visitation
will be Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM in the Swiss Village Auditorium in Berne
and Wednesday from 9:00 – 10:00 AM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in
Portland. Memorials can be made to the Swiss Village Endowment Fund or
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
