Chester F. DeBolt, 68, Portland, a former resident of Decatur and a retired
Holthouse Furniture Co. employee in Portland, died unexpectedly at his home
Wednesday afternoon after suffering a heart attack.
He was a veteran
of World War II, serving in the US Army.
Born in Van Wert County, O.,
in Middlebury, on Jan. 3, 1913, he was the son of Dora and Sarah Cook
DeBolt.
Survivors include the widow, Elizabeth Franks-DeBolt, two
sons, Marvin DeBolt, Columbia City and Richard DeBolt, Decatur; two
daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Diane) Scott, Rt. 4, Decatur and Mrs. Melvin
(Sharon) Fuelling, Rt. 3, Decatur; one brother, Kenneth L. DeBolt, Decatur;
three sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Cleo) Springer of Rt. 3, Decatur, and Mrs.
Lucille Secaur and Mrs. Lavon Grice, both of Decatur; nine grandchildren;
two great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Robert E. Vining of California and
Jack D. Vining of Brooklyn, NY; and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Linda (C. D.)
Caldwell of Barnesville, GA.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday
at the Williamson & Spencer Funeral Home, Portland, the Rev. David Mahoney
officiating. Burial will be in the Green Park Cemetery, Portland.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday.
