Edward Monroe Williams, age 79 a resident of Portland passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at his home. He owned and operated Williams Auto Parts in Portland from 1980-2017. He ran the Boy’s Club in Portland for 6 years after the death of Ronnie Hummer. He graduated from Portland High School in 1957 where he lettered in basketball, football, baseball, and track. Ed was an avid sports fan and loved fishing and sprint car racing.
He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist
Church and also attended the Church of the Brethren, both in Portland. He was a
member of the Portland Masonic Lodge #87, and was a sponsor for Todd Keen
Racing.
Edward Williams
was born March 5, 1939 in Bluffton, Indiana the son of Roger and Rosemary
(Atkinson) Williams. He was married September 14, 1958 to Kay Spencer and she
preceded him in death on May 8, 2010.

1 Daughter- Tammy Piercey (husband-Vernon),
Indianapolis

His companion of 7 years- Wendy Shuttleworth, Portland
Visitation will be held from 1pm-8pm on Monday in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Masonic services will be conducted at 8pm on Monday evening.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Dave Smitley will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
