Anna Marie Lingo, age 91, a former resident of Portland,
passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Aaron Manor Rehabilitation in
Fairport, New York. She was a former Portland resident until 1985 when she
moved to Bradenton, Florida. She then moved to Rochester, NY in 1996.
Anna Marie was born on September 21, 1926 in Jay County,
Indiana, the daughter of Arlie and Zelpha (Greaf) Sheffer. She married
Charles L. Lingo on April 12, 1947 and he passed away on September 17, 1993.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Portland Music
Club. Other memberships include the West Walnut Street Church of Christ in
Portland, Indiana and Bethany Presbyterian Church in Rochester, NY where she
participated in choirs at both churches.
Anna Marie
graduated from Madison Township High School in 1944 and worked for the
Haynes Milling Company in Portland, Indiana for over 20 years.
Anna Marie loved gardening, reading, singing and her eight great
grandchildren.

(Patty) and Deborah A Eggert (Stephen) Grandchildren; Shannon Renauto
(Thomas) and Derek Eggert Great Grandchildren; Elena, Lia and Jackson
Renauto, Logan, Kassidy, Jonah, Maddox and Ian Eggert Sister; Mary Ruth
Stoner Brother; Dale E. Sheffer (Joan) Sister-in-law; Betty Berck.
She
was preceded in death by parents Arlie Burr and Zelpha (Greaf) Sheffer;
husband of 46 years Charles L Lingo; sister Lois Jean Sheffer;
brothers-in-law John Lingo (Lois), William Lingo (Gene), and John Berck.
The family would like to thank the caring staff of Aaron
Manor Nursing and Rehab, Fairport, NY and Lifetime Hospice.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1-2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and
Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. on
Thursday at the funeral home. Pastor Gil Alicea will officiate and burial
will follow at Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
In lieu
of flowers, memorials may be directed towards the Multiple Sclerosis Society
or Parkinson Foundation.
