Palmer Gay Shirk

Bryant - Dec. 31 -

Palmer Gay Shirk, 53, dropped dead this morning at 10 o'clock while walking along the road near his home two miles north of Bryant. His death was due to heart disease. He was a lifelong resident of Jay County.

Surviving are the widow; two sons, Clarell Shirk of Portland and Palmer Shirk Jr. at home; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Wall of Pennville and Ruth Shirk at home; one brother, Willard Shirk of Portland; three sisters, Mrs. Lula Steed, Mrs. Hazel Cecil and Miss Pearl Shirk of Elkhart, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 o'clock from the Bryant Lutheran Church. Rev. N. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery at Bryant.

SHIRK Bryant, Ind., Jan. 3 – Funeral services for Palmer J. Shirk, 63, were held Tuesday at 3 pm at the Bryant Lutheran Church.

Burial was in Gravel Hill Cemetery, west of Bryant.

Death occurred Sunday at the home north of Bryant. He is survived by the widow, four children, one brother, three sisters and five grandchildren. Fort Wayne News-Sentinel (IN); January 3, 1940
