RUSSELL
LIGGETT OF BRYANT DIES TODAY
FUNERAL THURSDAY FOR FORMER BLACKSMITH
AND RESTAURANT OWNER
Russell Glen Liggett, 72, of Bryant, died at 3
a.m. today at the Adams County Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient
since Dec. 12. He was ill three weeks.
Mr. Liggett was a blacksmith
in Bryant for many years, later operated a restaurant at the intersection of
highways 27, 18, and 67 near Bryant and in recent years was employed at the
lunch counter of the Eagles Lodge in Portland.
A native of Jackson
Township, Jay County, Mr. Liggett was born Nov. 22, 1885, the son of William
and Mary Poling Liggett. He was married to Elsie Grogg in 1914.
Surviving are the wife; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Wendel of Bryant and a
sister, Mrs. Harry Moore, Bryant. One sister preceded in death.
The
body is at the Hardy and Hardy Funeral Home in Geneva where friends may
call. Services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday, Rev.
Donald Herr, pastor of the Bryant Wesleyan Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery.
