Phyllis L. Denney, 81, Bryant, Ind., died early today at the Chalet
Village Retirement Center, Berne, Ind.
She was born May 1, 1906 in
Bryant, the daughter of Summy and Rachel (Perry) Burkett. On Feb. 2, 1924,
she was married to Alfred Beryl Denney, who survives.
Also surviving are
two sons, Robert, Rockford; and Beryl, Bryant, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs.
Robert (Arline) Godwin, Celina; Mrs. Keith (Jane) Hofstetter, Geneva, Ind.;
and Mrs. Jerry (Sue) Shirk, Portland, Ind.; a sister, Lyndall Valez, New
Haven, Ind.; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild.
Four half-brothers and two half-sisters are
deceased.
Mrs. Denney was a retired employee of Jay Garment Co.,
Portland, where she had worked for 29 years. She was a member of Macklin
Chapel Church in Jay County, Ind.
Services will be held Saturday at 10:30
a.m. in the Portland chapel of Williamson & Spencer Funeral Home, the Rev.
Lewis Strong officiating. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Bryant.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 2-9 p.m. All aforementioned
times are Indiana times.

Cancer Fund.
