FUNERAL SUNDAY FOR SISTER OF LOCAL MAN

MRS. BERNICE MACKLIN CRAMPTON OF DETROIT DIES

Mrs. Bernice Macklin Crampton of Detroit, a sister to Paul Macklin of this city, died unexpectedly early Wednesday morning, March 1.

Death occurred at the home of her son, Keith Crampton, where she was staying with her grandchildren while the parents were on a vacation in Arizona. Last evening at eleven o’clock, the vacationing son and daughter-in-law, presumed on their way home, had not been located to notify them of Mrs. Crampton’s death.

The body will be brought to the Baird Funeral Home in Portland for funeral services which had been planned for Saturday but have been postponed till 1:00 p.m. Sunday, hoping that the son can be notified.

Survivors include the son and also a daughter, Mrs. Tessibel Chase, both of Detroit, three grandchildren, two brothers, Rev. Egbert Macklin of New York City and Paul Macklin of Berne and a sister, Mrs. Beatrice Lee at Bryant. [buried Gravel Hill Cemetery, Jackson Township, Jay County, Indiana]
