Services held for Vietnam vet
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Williamson and Spencer
Funeral home in Portland for John R. Strausburg, 20, a Vietnam veteran who
hanged himself Friday at his home in Portland route 6. Burial was in Gravel
Hill Cemetery west of Bryant. Surviving are his wife, the former Rebecca
Prescott; the mother, Mrs. Ruth Strausburg of Portland route 4, and brother
and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rittenhouse of Geneva and Mrs. Elsie
Strausburg of Dunkirk.
