Dale M. Stout, 61, dies; former Berne councilman
Dale M. Stout, 61, of 525 E. Water street, Berne, a former city
councilman in that community, died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday at the Adams
county memorial hospital, following an extended illness.
Mr. Stout, a
city employee at the time of his death, served as a Republican city
councilman in Berne during the late 1950’s.
He was a member of the
Nazarene Church, Berne.
Born in Geneva on August 8, 1912, he was the
son of Ralph and Bertha Goff-Stout, and was married in 1934 to Velma Stucky,
who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. William (Rosemarie)
Harris of Illinois; Mrs. L.J. Montague of Fort Wayne; Mrs. Marvin (Carol)
Martin of Argos; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be
held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Baird-Freeman funeral home, Portland with
Rev. Darwin Pressler officiating. Burial will be in the Gravel Hill
cemetery, Bryant. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. tonight.
Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society.
