Former Geneva Nursing Home Operator DiesRites Tuesday For Mrs. Fannie Belle Smith, 78

 Mrs. Fannie Belle Smith 78, a resident of Geneva for many years and the widow of Everett Smith, died Saturday at the Jay County hospital in Portland where she was in intensive care.

Mrs. Smith operated the Smith Nursing home in Geneva for many years and as long as her health permitted. She was a licensed practical nurse.

She was born at Wabash, Ohio June 2, 1894, a daughter of David and Mary Angelina Fennig. She was married to Everett Smith who preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons, Hugh Smith, Plymouth and Robert Smith, a school principal at Muncie; a daughter, Mrs. Howard (Betty) Thrall, Indianapolis; eight grandchildren and a twin brother, Dorsey Fennig of Portland.

The body is at the Hardy and Hardy Funeral home in Geneva. Friends may call and funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.Rev. Lester Taylor of Geneva will officiate and burial will be in Gravel Hill cemetery near Bryant.

Mrs. Fannie Belle Smith, 78, of Geneva, widow of Everett Smith, died Saturday at the Jay county hospital, Portland.

Surviving are one daughter, two sons and eight grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Hardy & Hardy funeral home. Funeral services will be held there at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
