Sherry Lynn Moore age 57 of Portland passed away Thursday March 28, 2019 in
the IU Jay County Hospital. She was born in Portland April 27, 1961 the
daughter of Ernie and Mary (Younger) Gierhart. She was married December 30,
1979 to Robert Moore who survives. She was a homemaker and member of
American Legion Aux., Woman's Life Soiciety and Gamma Nu Sorority.
Surviving are her husband Robert, her father Ernie Gierhart of Marion, two
daughters Amanda Moore of Portland and Mindy Moore of Portland, one sister
Rhonda Lambert (husband Steve) of Portland, three grandchildren Spencer
Gillum, Zoey Moore and Oaklend Dean Huth. She was preceded in death by a
brother David Gierhart.
Funeral services will be Tuesday April 2,
2019 at 2:00 PM in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Hugh Kelly
presiding. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery west of Bryant.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. Memorials can be made to
the Jay County Cancer Society.
