GERALD HOMER KRANER
Gerald Homer Kraner, 77, of Rt. 1, Ohio
City, died at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan, 31, 1981, in Adams County Memorial
Hospital, Decatur, where he had been a patient for two weeks.
Mr. Kraner was born June 11, 1903, in
Adams County, a son of John Oliver and Eva (Tence) Kraner.
He was married to Frances Scott.
She died in 1936.
Survivors include his widow, the
former Verna Staude, whom he married in 1937; eight sons, Dick of Glenmore,
Keith of Washington, D.C., Thomas of Lancaster, Donald of Winston-Salem,
N.C., Homer of Ohio City, Max of Van Wert, Billy at home, and Ronnie Kraner
of Hieksville; a stepson, Frank Staude of Van Wert; three daughters, Mrs.
DeLloyd (Betty) Swoveland, Portsmouth, N.H.; Mrs. Harold (Marilyn) j
Clifton, Wren; and Ms. Tim (Norma) Kruckeberg of Decatur; two sisters, Elma
Hodgin of Geneva, Ind., and Betty Zimerman of Bradenton, Fla.; 39
grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Kraner was also preceded in death by a
son, a brother, and a sister.
He was a farmer and a member of the
American Guernsey Cattle Club.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m.
Tuesday in Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, with the Rev. Samuel
Brewster officiating. Burial
followed in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Bryant, Ind.
