Harold M. Imel, 61, rural Portland, died early
Friday morning in his home following an extended illness. He was born April
24, 1934, in Jay County to ??? and Vera Mazie (Spade) Imel. He married Linda
Sue Fouts on October ??, 1960. She survives.
Harold Imel was employed at Teledyne Portland Forge where he
had worked ?? years. He belonged to the Machinist Union at the Forge.
He graduated from ?? Township High School with the class of 1952.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are 3 sons; Dan L. Imel,
Berne; Steve ? Imel, Kendallville; and Stan R. Imel (wife Diane) West
Lafayette; 2 daughters, Mrs. Bob (Tammy) Bayham, Fort Hood, Texas, and Mrs.
Jerry E. . (Sheila) ???, New Knoxville, Ohio; a brother, Clarence Imel (wife
Penny), rural Portland; 2 sisters; Mrs. Jim (Vera) Jackson, rural Portland,
and Mrs. Ernest (???) Brown, Portland; 3 half-brothers; Floyd W. Imel (wife
Violet), ???, Indiana; Roy L. Imel (wife Pauline), fort Recovery, Ohio; and
George (wife Margaret), Detroit, Michigan; a half-sister, Mrs. Laura
Moneysmith, ??. and 5 grandchildren.
Services were at 1:00 p.m. today, Monday in the Portland
Chapel of Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home. Rev. John Gibson officiated.
Burial was in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, west of Bryant.
Calling hours
were 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and prior to the services on Monday in the
Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.
Memorials to the Jay County Heart Foundation, the Jay
County Cancer Fund, the Evangelical Methodist Church, or the Westchester
United Methodist Church.
