Susannah Ford
Services for Mrs. Susannah Ford, 87, 201 E. Arch St.,
Portland, were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home.
Pastor Darrel Taggart officiated. Burial followed in Gravel Hill Cemetery,
Bryant.
Mrs. Ford died Tuesday morning at the Jay County
Hospital after an extended illness. She formerly lived in the Bryant and
Poling area before moving to Portland.
Born May 9, 1889 in Jay County, her parents were
Albert and Mary Elizabeth (Teas) Lacey. She was married in 1910, to Clarence
L. Ford, who died Jan. 20, 1962.
Mrs. Ford was a member of the Asbury United Methodist
Church and the Dorcas Circle of the church. She also belonged to the Senior
Citizens Club, Wayne Willing Workers Extension Homemakers Club, and Tourist
Club.
Surviving are two sons; Lamoile Ford, Auburn, and
Paul Ford, Rensselaer; two daughters, Mrs. Horace Van-Matre, Bryant, and
Mrs. M. W. Hanna, Carlsbad, Calif.; seven grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
